Down the rabbit hole…

I was born with the gift of joy. My mixed media art is a reflection of what is at the core of my existence. Creating in a spirit of play, I work with colorful natural fibers, re-purposed materials, beads, found rusty bits, and collected objects. I call upon needlework skills acquired over my lifetime to bring the personalities of my characters to life.

Rusty found objects, long ago discarded and abandoned, ignite the initial inspiration for many of my pieces. The land encompassing the small farm community that I call home in eastern Montana is the primary source of these treasures. Endless encounters with the wild and domestic creatures that share this rural space provide reliable fodder for my whimsical work. I credit my summer gardens, which are an explosion of color and texture on the stark prairie, for inspiring the palette of my work.
