Enchanting the world with an optimistic spirit…Guardian No. 217
Felted unspun dyed wool spiked hair reflects this Guardian’s wild and playful nature…he tickles the spirit…
A hand-dyed vintage linen fabric face in deep green echoes his home in the lush forest of the pacific northwest. The ears indicate that a male was my inspiration.
He is a tinkerer and has an uncanny ability to “fix all things” represented by a single intuitive eye peering from a vintage rusty washer. Always wearing a tie on Sunday, the Guardian’s vintage bolt legs reflect his bygone era.
The colors and patterns used for the body evoke a joyful earthy spirit deeply connected to the land. He is a hard-working man who tenderly nurtures the world with his fun-loving heart.
His personality emerges with intricately-detailed hand-stitched wings, embroidery and thoughtfully chosen beads. He offers a bouquet of hope and optimism…
This Guardian joyfully takes flight on a re-purposed bed spring emerging from a hand-painted wood block base. This figure stands approx. 20″ tall (with stand) and 7″wide and 7″ deep. Sewn to the back of the Guardian’s right wing is a tiny bell, representing my mother’s playful spirit. It’s gentle sound is a reminder to listen to the whispers of your heart.
