Guardian No. 221…searching for the sweet nectar of life
Using her long beak, she probes for the sweet nectar of life. She flourishes among green things growing as she hums a peaceful melody that echoes out into the world. Through her mind’s eye, she manifests a world overflowing with scent and beauty. Wrapped in the colors of the rainbow, she busily darts about like a hummingbird, finding comfort dwelling in small spaces.
Her heart center is represented by a carved circular bead the color of the dark deep rich soil that she carefully tends to bring birth to her passion.
Everywhere she travels she leaves a trail of color as she paints the landscape. This Guardian takes flight on a re-purposed bed spring emerging from a hand-painted reclaimed wood block base measuring approx. 20″ tall x 8″ wide by 11″ deep. Sewn to the back of the Guardian’s right wing is a tiny bell, representing my mother’s playful spirit. Its gentle sound is a reminder to listen to the whispers of your heart.
