Guardian No. 317…enticing your spirit out of its slumber

Adorned in the colors of spring, this Guardian’s excited light-hearted chatter entices your spirit out of its slumber, like a garden awakened after the dark of winter. Hand felted unspun dyed wool hair reflects her electric energy. Adorned with a headdress of guinea feathers, a bird known for its constant chatter.

From her center a vintage rhinestone bead radiates love out into the world. Her dress is ruffled with sari ribbon, reclaimed by woman artisans, evoking friendships collected from her travels. Her “roller skate” shoes and large leafed wings allow her to navigate a busy social calendar.

This Guardian takes flight into the world on a vintage bed spring from a hand painted re-purposed board that hangs on the wall, measuring approx. 15″ long, 10″wide, and 9″ deep. Sewn to the back of the Guardian’s right wing is a tiny bell, representing my mother’s playful spirit. It’s gentle sound is a reminder to listen to the whispers of your heart.
