Guardian No. 616…boldly dancing to a warrior’s love song
A spirit so strong she will not allow defeat…she is a love warrior…
Standing approx. 20″ tall (with stand) and 9″wide. The essence of an incredibly strong character called for hand dyed vintage linen fabric in deep earthy green and a rusty “found” washer attached with a carefully chosen handmade blood red glass bead. Felted unspun dyed wool was manipulated into hair spikes wrapped with thread attaching pheasant feathers to create this wild Guardian’s warrior headdress.
A variety of bold fabrics in reds, purples and orange reflect the fire burning within her soul. The beads and rhinestones hand sewn down her chest represent the gift of her brilliant internal light shining out into the world. Her purple necklace is her healing charm.
Her fierce personality continues to emerge with intricately-detailed hand stitching on her large wings and dancing antler legs…transporting her bravely and boldly through the circumstances of life…
This Guardian takes flight into the world on a re-purposed bed spring emerging from a hand-painted wood block base. Sewn to the back of the Guardian’s right wing is a tiny bell, representing my mother’s playful spirit. It’s gentle sound is a reminder to listen to the whispers of your heart.
